Homemade Bowling Set!

We have been having SO much fun bowling today with the new bowling set I made for the girls. In October I saw this great idea over at The Terrys, to make a homemade bowling set using Gerber Puffs Containers! I thought this was such a great idea, and got busy saving up puffs containers and recruiting old containers from friends!I was so excited to finally have 10 containers! Then I just peeled off the wrappers and washed them out. After they were clean and dry, I filled them with crinkled up heavy paper to give them added weight and hot glued the lids one. To give them the red lines to make them look more like bowling pins, I just used a red sharpie to trace the three grooves in the containers.

Molly is getting pretty good at knocking the pins down, and Nora is enjoying crawling into them. :) How fun are these! Head over to The Terrys to see her great idea!

  2. That is a great idea. I have a few saved from when Emma was younger, thinking I could find a use for them someday. Now I need to get a set :)

  4. It must have been a very exciting journey to collect and prepare ten containers, and undoubtedly the homemade result is a delightful bowling set. The use of crinkled heavy paper for additional weight as well as tracing the grooves with red sharpie giving them the resemblance of real bowling pins adds some nice touch to the project.
