Office Chair Makeover!

So I had this super cute fabric, and knew I had to make something awesome out of it, so I decided to makeover my sewing chair.

The chair used to me my husbands company work chair from like 10 years ago at his old job. He got to take it home when they bought new ones, so it was this "gorgeous" green pattern.

I've never upholstered anything, so I really didn't know what I was doing. I just pulled off the top and bottom section of the chair, spray adhesived my cloth to it, and then got out the staple gun and went to work stapling the cloth onto the back. Then I just reattached the two sections to the chair!

I totally love it! I think it was a much needed improvement! What do you think?

Fabric Covered Magnet Board!

OK, Now onto something more fun!

Check out this super fun fabric colored magnet board I made for my sewing room. I LOVE it! Here is what I did.

First, gather supplies:
Glue gun, scissors, spray glue, fabric and IKEA magnet board

Then, spray the board with spray adhesive

Lay the magnet board with glue side down onto the wrong side of your fabric (have fabric cut atleast an inch bigger than the board on each side)

Then, readjust the fabric since it didn't work like planned and has ripples in it. Easy fix, just lightly pull up the corners and re-flatten onto the glue covered board.

After the fabric dries onto the board, use your glue gun to glue the fabric around the edges and onto the back of the board.

Ta Da!!! Adorable Magnet Board!!! I am so excited to have some color on this, it has been gray in my sewing room for a few years.

Flower Pens! Tip Tuesday!

I have been wanting to try to make some flower pens for a long time, I think they are so cute, and I am so happy I finally got a chance to whip some up. I love how they turned out, and they are so super easy to make. I had some fake flowers left from a project a long time ago, so I used this tutorial from Homemade Mamas to make these great pens.

I am hoping to make a few more so I can use them at a baby shower later this summer.

Cozy Coupe Cutified! Tip Tuesday!

Molly worked hard over the weekend washing her cozy coupe so that we could add these adorable vinyl flower stickers to it today! I think this is "Total Cuteness!" Having two girls and a old cozy coupe from a garage sale, I knew I had to girly it up a bit.

The vinyl has a 6 year outdoor warranty, so it should hold up in the elements. :) But can be removed if I ever had a boy or was giving it away!
Adorable, right? I saw this idea over at More Than The Mulberries.

Tip Tuesday! Belt Hanger

I saw this idea over a year ago at The Children's Nest, and have been meaning to make one ever sense. My husband always put his belts on top of his sock drawer, which drove me crazy, so this was a perfect solution to give belts there own space. The little hooks are so strong and I got the plastic coated ones so they don't slip off hanging in the closet. I am so glad I finally got around to making this one. :)

Tip Tuesday! Summer Snack!

It is definitely Summer now, so to beat the heat, we decided to make these fun Vanilla Wafer Ice Cream Sandwiches we saw over at Random Thoughts of a Supermom! Molly thought we had to use the bigger sprinkles since they had "pink" in them! They were very fun, and tasted great!

Anyone have any other fun summer treats to make?

Tip Tuesday! 4th of July Flip Flops

I was so excited with how these flip flops for Molly turned out, and I always think it is so cute when she crosses her legs like that, :). I got her blue flip flops at Target for 2/$5, and the ribbon I cut off a hair band I got out of the $1 section. I can't wait for her have them to wear on the Fourth of July. (and I had to add the red toes with her new Piggy Paint, our favorite non-toxic, natural nail polish) I saw this great idea over at The McIllece Spot.

Molly's New Work Area!

I also am in LOVE with my new area for Molly's daily learning activities. I took Carisa from 1+1+1=1's inspiration and got this beautiful organizer from IKEA (love that store). It has worked so amazing for us. Molly loves having everything in it's own drawer, and she can be more self leading. She gets out one drawer at a time, we do the activity and then she knows she has to pick it back up before she gets out another drawer. It also makes it so much easier for me to set activities up for her, each night I just change a few out. LOVE it. :)

Tip Tuesday! Bunny Smores

I posted these Easter Bunny Smores last year on my blog, and just had to make them again this year, they are just to cute. So, I thought I would re-post in case anyone else wanted to make them this year.

Re-Post:
This weeks "Tip Tuesday" tip is from Creative Holiday Gift Ideas! It is a jar of Easter Bunny Smores, I made for Molly to give her story time teacher and nursery leader.
I thought this was such a cute idea, and very festive. You actually mix them up with a few wet ingredients to make brownies. YUM!

Magnetic Pom-Poms! Tip Tuesday!

I've been seeing the great magnetic pom poms people were buying and using with there preschoolers, and knew I had to figure out how to whip some up for Miss Mollycakes. So, I gathered up the pom-poms I had, some circle magnets, and my glue gun and got to work.

Basically, I just glued the pom-poms to the magnets with a bit of hot glue and let cool. The magnets I had were adhesive, but I thought that would probably not hold up to a 2 1/2 year olds use. As always, I keep these away from Molly when I'm not using them with her, and watch closely, you can never be too careful with kids and small magnets.

Molly absolutely LOVED this activity. We have done pages like this before with dot markers, but she never really wanted to stay in the circles. I was really surprised that she put the pom-poms on the dots right away, and even matched up the colors. I didn't have all the colors, so Molly told me I needed to make more. Looks like I'll be going to the craft store to pick up more colors soon!

You can find this great Easter printable I used at Confessions of a Homeschooler. She has lots of great educational Easter activities you can print off.

Tip Tuesday! Rainbow Cupcakes!

I broke down and followed the trend, I've been seeing these AWESOME rainbow cupcakes being made by everyone right now for St. Patrick's Day. I thought they looked so fun, so I made some up since we were having one of my friends and her kids over today for lunch.

You can get the recipe at Family Fun, it really was super easy. All you need is a white cake mix and food coloring. You can add whip cream on top. I was planning to add this but ended up not, and they were still super good! (and 4 ww's points each for my fellow counters)

Adorable Ribbon Headbands! Tip Tuesday!

My friend Kalli thought me how to make these great headbands and I am addicted! There are so many different color combination's I want to make for Miss Molly. I made this cute blue one first because that is the only ribbon I had long enough, but I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and stocked up on ribbon when it was 50% off, so watch out... I am going headband crazy! Check out how to make these Ribbon Woven Headbands here.

Blue Cricket Designs has an AMAZING recipe collection, and here's the best part... it is all set up to be printed off into a book!

Yum! The Taco Stromboli looks so good. And all I can say is, Cinnamon Rolls w/ Cream Cheese Frosting... Seriously, it's 9:30 at night here and I'm sure I'm going to be dreaming about those tonight. :)

Head over to one of my favorite blogs, Blue Cricket Designs, and make sure to print out a copy of the 2009 Recipe Collection.

Tip Tuesday! Reverse Applique

Over at Not So Idle Hands, is a GREAT tutorial on how to make a reverse applique shirt. As soon as I saw how adorable these shirts were, I knew I had to try and make one for Molly.

It was so much fun to make, it is so easy and turns out fantastic. It seriously only took me about 20 minutes start to finish. I even free handed my cutting, which I never dare do. Love it, head over and see how to make one.

Tip Tuesday! Great Teacher Gift Idea

All afternoon Molly and I have been crafting, crafting, crafting! I saw this adorable idea to make a snowman gift box out of a chinese food container over at Blue Cricket Design (this is an amazing blog, head over and check it out!). So we got to work and made this one for her Storytime teacher. We lined ours with tissue paper, and filled it with mini candy bars.

Molly is so excited to give it to her teacher, I'm just a little worried that the Storytime Christmas party is going to be canceled in the morning due to the winter storm we are getting right now. But I'm sure we can figure out someone who would like this gift. :)

Tip Tuesday! Halloween Decoration!

I can not believe how much I love, love, love my bat lights! I saw this idea over at Ramblings of a Crazy Woman, and immediately got out a piece of my daughters black construction paper and my scissors and got to work. I mean... seriously... how cute are these! This woman is a genius, not only did I not have to buy anything to make this decoration, it was so easy, and turned out fantastic!!! Head over and see how easy they are to make for yourself!

I just used a small piece of tape rolled up, and they are sticking to the lamps great.

Yep, I did every single lamp in my entire house!

Tip Tuesday!

This week I needed to find a way to organize Molly's crayons, colored pencils, and scrap paper in an easy to use place. She is very into coloring on the little scrap paper that I use for notes and such, so I put this little "tool box" as Molly calls it together.

It is actually a fork, spoon, knife and napkin holder for picnics. I don't think I've ever actually used it for it's intended purpose, so this was a perfect way to put it to good use. It is working so good as her "tool box" that she even doesn't mind helping clean it up!

Tip Tuesday!

How to make a Princess Wand:

This weeks tip I found at Zakka Life. They have a great tutorial on how to make a Princess Wand. As soon as I saw this project, I knew it would be perfect for my daughter who loves playing dress up and pretending. I think this project turns out adorable, and is fun to make. I think I'm still going to tie some cute ribbon to it in the morning.

I can't wait for Molly to try it out, she was sleeping when I made it tonight, so she'll get a chance to play with it in the morning. It will go perfect with the adorable costumes she got for her birthday. (Thanks Marsh's)

Tip Tuesday!

Yeah! Look at all the beautiful canned pears I made with my Grandma today. (Thanks so much Grandma!)

Today's tip is when you are canning or baking or knitting or whatever. Invest the help of someone who has been doing it for years. I got so many helpful and great tips from my Grandma today. It is so much better than learning from a book, and much more enjoyable!

Tip Tuesday!

My newest favorite tip is:

To brown a very large quantity of ground beef up (slowly of course, so not to burn it). Then drain in and cool into about 1 pound portions in individual containers. Then I pop them in the freezer.

This is SO nice. Their are so many times that I don't make a recipe because I don't feel like browning meat because it's so hot, or I'm just to lazy, or my biggest issue... I forget to thaw it.

It's also really nice, because with how sick I am with this pregnancy, it is really easy for my husband to take out the already browned meat and make goulash, nachos, manwich, etc. for the rest of the family.
