Turkey Hair Clip!

I saw these adorable Ribbon Turkey Hair Clips at a craft fair and knew I had to make some for the girls for Thanksgiving. For this one, the ribbon is just hotglued to a alligator clip covered in brown ribbon. For Nora's I glued the turkey to a headband like I did HERE for the spider one. Her hair is still a little to short for an alligator clip to hold. I'll get a picture of hers tomorrow when she wakes up. :) And I'll show you the super cute turkey shirts I made!

(PS- Anyone know how to glue on gluey eyes without burning your fingers with hot glue a million times ;)

  1. As for those turkeys, HOW ADORABLE! :) I can't wait to go to the craft fair this weekend here. I think I may have missed one or two earlier, but I am hoping that they have more soon! I only have a few more things to get for Marlee and she is done! :)

I don't know how to glue on wiggly eyes without burning yourself...have you tried putting the glue on the eye instead of the ribbon? That's probably how I would do it, or just try to put a TINY bit of glue on...

  2. Oh, hey I just remembered why I even got on here...have you seen those rag numbers, and letters? Have you seen a template for them? I could make them myself, but if someone else already has them made, I would love to just print and go! :) If I find some in my search tonight, I'll let you know! :)

  3. Love this hair clip, Kim! Especially like the eyes. What if you use a piece of scotch tape rolled up on the end of a Qtip? You could grab the eye with the tape while holding the Qtip so your fingers don't get too close, then put the glue on the eye and hold the eye on with the Qtip until it cools and you can easily lift the Qtip/tape off. Not sure if that will work, but it's worth a shot:)

  4. Those are so cute Kim. I think I will make one for Mallorie for Thanksgiving. They are so cute. What are you up to this weekend? We need to get together. Call Me!

  5. HA, you will not believe this, I just ordered those bows for the girls...HA! Also, with the eyes, use super glue on a toothpick instead of hot glue. Then you will not get burned! :)

  6. That is really cute! A friend of mine who makes bows wears thimbles on her fingers to keep from poking herself and from burning herself with the hot glue. HTH!
