Over at A Mommy's Adventures they do a weekly project link that I've been so excited to join. A Story + Art = A Great stART. You combine a story you read with a fun art project.
This week we read, Clifford's The Big Leaf Pile. ( I can't for the life of me figure out how to add underline on here?) Molly loves this Clifford book, and the leaves in our backyard are piling up so this was the perfect week to focus on it.
After we read the book, we headed outside to gather up a bag of leaves, which as you can see are not hard to find in our yard.
And then we simply glued our leaves to the top of the tree. This went really well, we have been working on gluing. She always wants to glue something on, and then take it back off. But we managed to keep the leaves on the tree today. :)
I know it may not be the most creative art project, but we had a blast making it. For some great creative stART projects, head over to A Mommy's Adventures.
What a cute project to go with your story! I will have to check out this book because Emily has been enjoying the Clifford books! Thank you for linking up :0)
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great! My son loves Clifford. He loves anything to do with dogs. (And I think this is a creative project.)
ReplyDeleteB has really been enjoying Clifford books too. What a neat project to make that story come alive.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a very creative project. I love that you glued real leaves to the traced tree - what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter likes Clifford too. Cute idea!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! She looks like she had fun doing it :)
ReplyDeleteCute project! My daughter loves Clifford too, especially his puppy days. Molly did a great job with her tree.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I can't wait til Marlee is big enough to do some stuff like that! When did you start having her color and things like that?

ReplyDeleteLeaves always make fun projects! We haven't read that particular Clifford book.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great fall activity! Boy, you have a lot of raking in your near future.
ReplyDeleteVery cute when I saw you were doing a Clifford book I had to hop over. ER loves all those books.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, is Molly wearing a black leather jacket? SO cute!
ReplyDeleteTo underline, highlight what you want to be underlined and hit Ctrl-U, and it should be underlined....
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of all you people with leaves changing color.
Like the idea of glueing the leaves to the coloring sheet.
ReplyDeleteJumping in piles of leaves looks like fun!

We have ONE tree in our yard so when we went to visit my mom and her thousands (ok, not quite) trees, the boys went wild.
